In Studio 5, we had a really great time to work on our passions and achieve something unique. Therefore, I represented this piece of artwork to show how relevant was studio 5 to me.
The missiles which I also decorated with chalks and other extraordinary equipment represent the skills which I improved during PYPx. For example, the skill I needed the most in studio 5 is to collect and earn data from what I inquired because if you want to inform others with the information you have, you need to organize it simply to let the audience who sees my data understand what I’m saying. However, I think I did a poor job of presenting my research to others because I didn’t organize the information of what I researched clearly, so people didn’t understand the main idea I’m informing to them. The holes which I decorated with chalks represent the attitudes that changed during my PYPx. For example, around those things, the biggest change represented in the artwork is independence because the way of learning in studio 5 changed in a huge difference. Therefore, you needed to take care of your own priority, prepare your own materials and etc. However, the attitude I least developed that is represented in this artwork is having empathy because you often work independent in studio 5, so I haven’t got a chance to practice understanding other people’s emotions depending on the situation there in. Also, the holes represent as I work towards motivation during this amazing unit, I demonstrated autonomy, mastery, purpose because I self directed myself to take new challenges, fail forward and have final success towards my motivation. For example, as I took actions towards my learning of political situations of South Korea, I wanted to create a documentary to teach others about it. Therefore, I self directed and made self improvement to myself to try new ways of filming by learning from mistakes which I have made over the last weeks. However, I had a problem not being able to find new ways to innovate my documentary. So, I asked an expert to teach me how to take a great informal film of mine over and over again until I get it. After having a new idea from him, I was able to take an amazing motivation film. Finally, the paint dots I made with different colors represent during the PYPx journey, I learned various lessons about myself which might influence my life depending on how I use it. The most relevant life lesson for me is that no matter how much you fail, I never give up because nobody can be perfect unless you try, try and try until you will get better at it and more motivated to it. For example, when I was trying to inquire through how to use adobe after effects create magnificent animations, I made loads of mistakes, but I never gave up and later, became an expert of using it. Keep on being committed to things and never give up until you accomplish something because around every effort you put into something, at least one of them will be successful. Also, you can learn from your mistakes and develop yourself even more for the future.

The Infinite Project ended. However, there is an another project coming up! That project is called the infinite project 2.0!!! In this project, I have lots of excitements because I can learn new things which I have never learned before and practice new skills which I needed to work on in the last project. This is my plan for this project.
What I can do is first, is to email Mr.Frank because in the last project, I struggled to find him due to not discussing with him about his schedule which can be serious waste of time. Also, just in case, I should watch some documentaries and record some facts in my note book to use it for my piece of film. Furthermore, I will be using animating apps in my devices such as i movie, adobe after effects and adobe illustrator because if I'm so interested in this that I do this at school, I think I should definitely do it as home as well. I hope next week, I will have some accomplishments.
It is close to the end of this project due to the 5th week of the infinite project over. During this week, I have learned new things, learned new skills to overcome challenges and something new things I should keep on working on. This was my life during week 5. During this period, I think I was good at staying away from my comfort zone because every time if the priorities I must finish is to easy for me, I always think about challenges I can take for me to improve on working on my motivation. For example, when I already mastered how to do 2-D animations in after effects, I kept on thinking about challenges I can take to keep my butt busy. Therefore, I decided to learn how to crate 3-D animations which is much more difficult and enjoyable. However, I think I need to work on finding independent resolutions to problems because if there was a problem to my animation, I always asked Mr.Frank for help and when he is not there I just wasted time watching short track on my laptop. Therefore, I think if there is a problem, I will need to solve it by my own to not waste time and keep on trying my best.
This project has supported us to showing efforts to run towards our goals and I hope it was a good experience to work on my motivation. Today, I think I did a good job working on my documentary because I only focused on creating animations to make my documentary informally interesting. For example, as I calculate what to animate in my documentary to make it good quality, I have act right away, so that I don't forget about it and save some time to edit it when I'm done with it. However, I think I still need to work on saving my time to work on other priorities because often when I work on my animations in after effects, there things that need to be fixed, but the point is that it can take a lot of time to adjust it. Next time, to solve this problem, I think I should plan the animation in my notebook by drawing, captions and when I'm satisfied with it I can animate what it says to do because then, I would not have to fix anything and go forward and finish my work right way. It is close to the 6th week, but that doesn't mean it's over yet. Next time, I will even try harder to accomplish what I want to do.
The Current Political Situation about the World Technology has improved fast over time as there are more and more populations to take care of them all over the world. That means, if they have lots of technological improvements, they will start to compete with others to show that they are dominant. Thus, during the cold war, United States and Soviet Union which is Russia right now had a competition with each other, to prove to other countries that they are the strongest peacekeepers here on Earth. After the devastating conflict, the world was calm for few moments of time. However, since Russia recovered its power and China is catching up very quickly, the world, once again fall into the 2nd world conflict which is called Cold War 2. Lets find out what are the best weapons of this current period of time and how can this influence human civilizations during the conflict. The Best Weapons of Air Force F-22 Raptor VS E-767 AWACS What is E-767 AWACS? During air combats, you need to earn specific information about the enemies and send it to the command station to have the right strategy to strike them down in a certain advantage. However, it can take lots of time sending contacts back and forth while the battle is already raging. Therefore, the AWACS (Airborne Warning and Control System) is like a command station of the skies which has an efficient radar to detect enemies from several kilometers away and plan the tactics to win the combat against the enemies. The E-767 AWACS is an air system which has attached one of the most advanced radar, the AN-APY-2 on the Boeing-767. With this kind of progressive technology, it can detect any enemies averagely 370 km away and can even identify distances up to 800 km. That means it can recognize movements from the entire regions of Korea. It is now being used in Japan Air Self-Defense Force. AWACS in Actual Combat In 1982, there was an actual combat which the AWACS was involved. It was an air battle between Israel and Syria. The situation was really serious for Israel because they needed to fight with over 80 jet fighters of Syria and they only had 2 Air Force systems. Then, something incredible and remarkable had happened. Syrian jet fighters were completely destroyed due to the AWACS called the E-2C, creating efficient strategies which gave Israel the advantage to secure victory. The Rival of the E-767 AWACS E-767 is not the only dominant air combat commander around the world. In South Korean Air Force, there is a similar system as threatening as this aircraft. Let me introduce to you, the E-737 AWACS. Just like the E-767, this type of combat aircraft is invented when you attach an effective radar on the business jet called B-737. Due to being actual placed in the air force, South Korea is now able to detect up to 740 km which can spot the entire regions of North Korea and some parts of China as well. Also, it can shoot radar beams all over combat areas and it can notice 1,000 enemies at once. This can be a real threat especially to other AWACS from different countries. The Ancestor of F-22 Raptor Lots of people might be surprised, but this stealth fighter isn't the first stealth technology made in United States. This technology is known as the F-117 Nighthawk. This ancestor was actually placed in the 1980's and was first used in the Gulf War. During that time, even though it was only few units, this jet fighter did a role up to 100 air combat systems. However, it was retired due to the stealth paint of the fighter not waterproof. Therefore, if it rains, the stealth abilities will be useless and would need to battle several enemy jet fighters with slow speed and low range. This technology was a good experience for other scientists to inquire into an another stealth fighter which is almost impossible to defeat. What is F-22 Raptor? Have you ever wondered what is possibly the world's most powerful jet fighter in the world? Well, the United States Air Force inquired into a jet fighter which has the power to take on over 200 jet fighters by its own. This kind of beast is the F-22 Raptor. It has a progressive radar called the APG-77 AESA which can detect enemies up to 250 km. Also, it does a big role to electronic warfare which can weaken air defense networks to defend their air force from huge dangers. Furthermore, it can beat up enemies from a distance using the AIM-9X Sidewinder missiles which can target one of the most frightened weakness to enemy fighters, the wings. These kind of technologies, all take parts to form the invincible raptor. How Stealth Abilities work on Stealth Aircraft? Stealth technology has improved so much over time and today, we use 3 kinds of technology to show stealth techniques to a jet fighter. The first ability is to paint the cover of the jet fighter using paints which absorbs radar waves and not let it appear on enemy radar clearly. The second tactic is to attach weapons including missiles, rockets and even guns inside the jet fighter to not let the radar sense heat. Finally, the jet fighter needs to have a perfect shape to display the stealth by refracting enemy radar. F-22 has the technology of all of these and is prepared to do some serious combat with threatening enemies. Stealth Aircraft in Actual Combat During the Red Flag Alaska (Virtual Air Combat) in 2006, the F-22 was actual placed for combat and you know what was the result? Until 144 jet fighters which includes F-16, F-15 and F-18 were targeted, the F-22 was never shot. Therefore, total of 241 jet fighters stroke down while only 2 of them were damaged badly. In the future, the F-22 will show complete violence against enemies who comes in their way. There was also an another virtual battle which is called the Red Flag in 2012. This battle includes all the advanced jet fighters around the world. When the battle began, the F-22 Raptor started to destroy everything in a far distance away. However, there was an epic disaster. While close range combat, the Eurofighter Typhoon targeted one of these stealth fighters down. Therefore, we still don't know if this fighter will be truly dominant even though it is likely to be violent. However, these battles are all just fraud battles, happening in the virtual world to prepare for the actual combats. In 2014, during the Syrian Civil War, the beast of skies were used in a real combat to bomb ISIS's (Islamic State of Iraq and Syria) military systems and they have earned great successes by dropping missiles to dangerous factory systems of the IS. North Korea's Nightmare Many people might think North Korea is stronger than South Korea at military, but while combat, there can be more likely chance of defeat, due to having very poor technology. So, would it make sense, this technology can face up against this beast of America? No chance, because it is one of the most dangerous weapons for North Korea with their radar not being able to notice the threat while the enemy is already near, ready to bomb every military facilities of North Korea. Air Force Conclusion So, what do you think? Will the E-767 be victorious with its effective radar or will the F-22 Raptor be the dominant one who wrack everything which comes in their way using stealth abilities. Put comments down below to discuss your opinion with others. Moving on to the next military topic, it is the Navy. The Best Weapons of Navy Typhoon SSBN VS Ohio SSBN Deadly Nuclear Submarines Before starting off the naval competition, let us know first, the types of nuclear submarines and how can it be threatening to other countries. There are 3 types of nuclear submarines in the world. The first type is the nuclear ballistic missile submarine (SSBN). The systems of the machinery are all operated by nuclear generators which generate enough energy to activate the submarine. However, the most dangerous part of it, is that, it has several nuclear ballistic missiles which can turn the entire world into bloodbath. The other type of the submarines are the general-purpose attack submarine (SSN) and the cruise missile submarine (SSGN). The same as the SSBN, it is also powered with nuclear generators starting the systems. However, it has more torpedoes and anti-ship missiles to target down other submarines, battleships and even jet fighters. In addition, all of them have a great technology to detect enemies with the radiation of the sound or using sonar. However, they can also have a high chance being detected by others due to its propulsion. Among these types, the Ohio and the Typhoon are SSBN. What is Typhoon SSBN? The size of this thing truly proves itself the titan among the seas. The length of it is up to 171.5 m with the weight of 48,000 tons. In addition, there are 2 cylindrical pressure hulls in the inside of the submarine with another hull surrounding it to win the water pressure as the submarine goes deeper and deeper down the seas. However, what makes this beast even more terrifying is that it is so tough that in the North Pole, it can break through up to 3 meters of ice and launch deadly missiles to the enemy including SS-N-20 ballistic missiles which has a short range up to only 8,300 km. However, this type of submarine is not often being used by the navy which is has a disadvantage of not having enough experiences for combat. What is Ohio SSBN? Although, the Typhoon SSBN is not the only submarine that can dominate the seas. In the American corner, there is an another champion who waits for chances to strike the Typhoon down mysteriously. That champion is the Ohio SSBN. It has length of 170 m and the mass of 16,764 tons. It also has a deadly cruise missile called the Tomahawk missile as well as ballistic missiles named Trident 2 which has a magnificent range up to 11,300 km. Furthermore, the US navy has manufactured and operated it efficiently by, especially marine forces including Navy SEAL & UDT SEAL. How does Nuclear Missiles Work? Chemical elements such as uranium & plutonium have critical masses which means the smallest mass of a nuclear element that you need, in order to create a nuclear chemical reaction named nuclear chain reaction. At this point, only nuclear radiations would come out, but there will be no huge explosions. However, if you create reactions with 1 or more of these radioactive materials that has a bigger mass than the critical mass, it will have enormous explosions due to the nuclear chain reaction. Comparing the Typhoon SSBN & the Ohio SSBN Now, when we compare these two titans, each submarine has an advantage. First of all, the Typhoon is well protected with many pressure hulls surrounding the body of the submarine. Although, the Typhoon has a better protection than this American champion, it still pack a punch with missiles having far more superior range as well as better accuracy and has more experience of combats. Nuclear Submarine Projects in Korea You might be asking if America is going to support Korea, then why do you need a nuclear submarine. Well, the reason is because America and other European countries' submarines are too expensive and you can't always depend on other countries to always defend you while China is trying to catch up to America. Therefore, we need to improve our own skills to create our own nuclear submarines and hopefully export it to other countries to earn profits. Navy Conclusion It might be fun comparing deadliest naval weapons from other countries all around the world, but lets remember that these weapons can't be used because if a nuclear war should occur, the Earth would vanish and all of the innocent citizens would die with no reason. Therefore, the UN is trying to work hard to use these dangerous armaments wisely and peacefully. Now, moving on to the Army. The Best Weapons of Army T-14 Armata VS AK-47 The Legend of Tanks In land combats, there is always this weapon which is used to take over land advantages from the enemy. This warrior is called the tank. Unlike other armaments, the history of tanks is really long. However, the modern tanks we still use today were first invented during WWI by the UK. Due to this, the German Empire couldn't invade the UK which resulted to the loss of the Germans. Since then, tanks were starting to develop especially in Nazi Germany and Soviet Union. Then, they were involved in various types of wars. During the Korean War, North Korea strike South Korea with their amazing T-34 tank manufactured by the Soviets. That's why South Korea started to lose right away having difficulties to fight against the enemy. Although, it was a terrifying weapon during the early 1900s, tanks started to have some serious problems from defending itself to even newer technologies. For example, during the 4th Arab-Israeli War, Israel massively produced loads of tanks, but after having some few combats with Arabic countries, almost of them vanished due to missiles created by the Soviet Union. However, tanks are still used today and it still pack a punch in mighty combats. What is T-14 Armata? The T-14 Armata is a multi-role main battle tank which means that it can battle enemies by changing its roles in certain situations. For example, it can turn itself into armored fighting vehicles, towed artillery and many more to be suitable in various combats. However, what makes this tank dangerous is that it has a deadly cannon called the 2A82-1M 125 mm cannon which has increased penetration by 30% from the past. Furthermore, it has anti-tank guided missiles called the sprinter which can target enemies up to the distance of 11.4 km. For protection, it has an AESA radar which can detect not only up to 5 km, but can see the enemies in 360 degrees. In addition, it has an active protection system called Afghanit to intercept enemy projectiles from targeting the Armata. However, we don't know yet how is this tank going to battle during combats. For example, in the Iraq War, Russia first used the new made T-72 tank, but as a result, it gave them nothing, but disappointments. Therefore, even though, the T-14 might have efficient technology, it might lack on combat experiences. What is AK-47? The AK-47 was one of the most famous assault rifles during the 20th century, manufactured by Soviet Union. It was the most produced assault rifle at that time while Germany had the G3 & the United States had the M16. The scary thing about this guy is that it has really long bullets which has better accuracy as well as penetration rather than the enemies including the M16. Other terrifying news is that it has a very low probability of having errors on the rifle and you can use it in any battle regions such as the jungle, desert and etc. The possible reason is the AK-47 has a piston while the M16 has been designed to remove the piston. However, when shooting a bullet, some gases will occur and will push the piston, but without the piston, it will push the knot which is the most important part of a rifle. As a result, without the piston, the rifle would be unsafe due to chemical elements in the gases which has an ability to disturb the gun's technology. Conclusion How was the comparison that I made? Was it realistic? Do you have other thoughts about these weaponry? Write down your ideas down comment section below and lets make sure that in the future, these armaments are used peacefully, not for violence.
In February 28th 2018, me and my parents did a student led conference to understand how autonomy, mastery, purpose impacts motivation. It was fun expressing ourselves to our parents and let them experience the story of my life as a studio 5 student because they can enjoy wht does it feel like to be motivated. These are the things that happened in the conference. 1. My parents expressed their passion in iMovie.
2. My parents solved the ping pong math problem and the olympic math as well. 3. My parents had a debate with me of saying can robots conquer humans. What Went Well During the Conference What went well in the conference is that my mom participated in various activities patiently and effectively because I didn't saw her look at her handphone even once and it felt like she was right into it. What Questions did my Parents have after the Confrence After the conference, my parents had a question of how does motivation impacts children to learn because for them, even if they get a new job, something they never tried before, it doesn't feel right for them, but for us if we inquire through new things, we will be interested to it and learn about it to become what we want to be. I think motivation impacts children to learn more than an adult because as an adult, you willl have more serious responsibilities than a child. Therefore, they will have less chances to experience what they're interestedin due to having worries of how are going to earn money and survive. What Feedbacks did you get from your Parents As the conference about to finish, I gave my parents a sheet of paper to give me some feedback of how can I improve. My parents wrote two stars and one wishes of how did the conference go in that piece of paper. Star: I am inquire through new discoveries Star: I was active when doing activities during the conference. Wish: My Parents wish I was more serious I think I can improve on what my parents wished by understanding the rules of different assemblies or celebrations and control my behavior depending on how relevant it is. What did you want your Parents to See I wanted to let my parents experience what does it feels like to be interested, determined to something because my parents had never experienced doing what they really want to do due of being busy everyday and going to a company or doing house works which is exhausting and not part of motivation. How can my Parents help me on my Next Unit My parents can help me by asking an expert they know outside of school because in the last unit, I struggled and struggled to create a documentary not because I didn't know what to do. It's because I didn't have an expert who had lots of experiences to lead me to success. Therefore, I want somebody with lots of experiences teach me lots of new ways that I can improve. How can my Parents help me to Improve My parents can help me to improve by planning what creative things I can add in my documentary because they lived in Korea for 10 years, so I know they have the knowledge, the experience to help me put all of them in action into one piece. For the conclusion, I hope this conference can lead me to a great start of my unit. Studio 5 is all about moving forward towards your motivation. You need to understand and demonstrate autonomy, mastery and purpose to create success and hinges through motivation. For infinite weeks, we studio 5 students will be working on a project called the infinite week project to take relevant actions to achieve our goals.
My goal is to learn how to develop South Korea at all costs such as economy, technology, government, and etc so that I have organizations of ideas when I'm old enough to take responsibilities of my own. I have chose to take action for this goal because many powerful countries such as the USA are making orders to show their power. Therefore, South Korean citizens as well as the government would be threatened to lose their politics to an another country who is joining the Korean Conflict. However, if we grow our power, many countries joining the conflict wouldn’t make fun of us and we would be peaceful after all. How will I do this project? Well, since I learned a lot from the 6 weeks project, I'm going to use that knowledge to open workshops and teach about Korea to other people. The workshop's topic would be history, technology, economy, government and etc about South Korea. I chose this as my topic for my workshop because it can help me express myself to others that my soul and my heart is all connected to these subjects. I think it would be easy to teach using slides in my workshop so, I must add a new folder in google drive and add google slide files about teaching others during my workshop. Also, during 6 week project, I didn't document my learning that well so, I for got every amazing things I have done during that unit. Therefore, I will document my learning this time on weebly to look forward to the fast and embrace the chaos. There will be lots of skills I need to work on as well. For math, I will need to work on data handling information that I have earned because if I use an unorganized information for my workshop, audiences would mess up and won't understand what I'm saying. Also, I need to work on literacy skills because I need to work as a community with the audiences in order for them to understand question and have a new thought to what I'm saying. I hope this unit is far more fantastic than the last unit. Infinite project is coming up and we need to do something during the weekends to make this project the best progress you can make. What I can do is first, email Mr.Frank because in the 6 week project, I struggled to find new experts who can help me, so this time, I really can use some help.
Also, just in case, I should watch some documentaries and record some facts in my note book to use it for my piece of film. Furthermore, I can upload filming apps such as i Movie because if I'm so interested in this that I do this at school, I think I should definitely do it as home as well. I hope next week, I will have some accomplishments. The Winter Olympics!!! One of the celebrations which you never want to miss has came here at last in Pyeongchang, South Korea. In this Olympic, you might discover extraordinary things which you have never experienced during the last few Olympics. One of these things include one of the most interested winter sports for South Korea, Short Track Speed Skating. Lets find out what is this sport and how did it influenced South Korea. What is Short Track Speed Skating This is the short track ice arena in South Korea. All the entertaining races took place here. However, all of this can't work with a specific goal or else the celebration might turn into chaos. The racing track of the arena is 111.12 m long and depending on how much distance you need to race for, you need to do a lap up to 5, 12, 27... times. Unlike normal speed skating, in short track, the ranking is more relevant than the time you cross the finish line. What kind of Matches are there in Short Track In short track, the matches separate into 2 different groups. The men's and the women's match. Then, for each gender, it will separate into 4 different games. These include the 500m, 1,000m, 1,500m for both genders, 3,000m relay for only women, and the 5,000m relay for only men. To win the games, you need to advance through the tryouts, quarterfinals, semifinals and depending on your ranking in the semifinal, you will be decided to advance through the final A or the final B. If you want to win a medal, you should probably advance to the final A because that's where you get the highest percentage to win a medal. Rules of Short Track Every matches will have its own specific rules. Even though, you have a certain goal for the game without the rules, once again, the game will turn out to be chaos. These rules include keeping the race safe and fair the most important part, have fun!!! Off Track Off track is a skill which is used by players to take the lead from the outside due to the inside lane blocked by other players. When using this skill, there is a slightly chance that your hands might invade other player's lane, so you need to be careful not to interrupt them while racing. Assistance Assistance is a skill used in a relay to assist their team players to let them take their turn to do a lap. You can use this skill to protect your lane from other players give your team player some more speed. However, while giving assistance, you need to be aware of not blocking the players from the race by showing impediment or accidentally tripped while impeding. If you fall off just before your teammates are ready to take the assistance the teammates can touch any part of your body to get the assistance. Penalty A penalty is a specific punishment which is given to players when they do something that can hurt other players while racing. You can get a penalty when you do bad hand movements to other players, invade other player's lane or do a false start. If you get a penalty, that means you can't continue that specific game anymore until it's over in a celebration like the Olympics. False Start False start is an irregular start when a player starts the race without the shooting gun which represents starting the game. If you have one false start at the beginning, you will have one more chance. The person who did the false start in the 2nd start, with no mercy, will get a penalty. Impeding An impeding is a hand movement which is used in short track to cause impediment to other players. If the impeding might be able to hurt other players or affect their race poorly, they will get a penalty. Currently, the ISU are watching over impeding movements and gave lots of penalties to other people during the Olympics just because they little bit touched other player's hands. History of Short Track Speed Skating(South Korea) The long awaited journey begins during the short track world championship held in Japan in 1983, when Korean men and women players faced off against many opponents from different countries the first time. As soon as the championship finished, in 1985, the South Korea National Short Track Team was formed. At this period, special constructions were being held to train players efficiently and turn them into something far more superior then what they think of. Because of this construction, in 1990, the national team of South Korea turned to be one of the world's best short track team in just short periods of time. Since then, the team kept on trying their best to improve until now, they're having huge interests to win 7 gold in the Olympics. World Record Holders Currently, the South Korean national short track team have a world record of 6/11 games. That means South Korea set the world record around half of the games already in a short period of time. That is impressive because for them to have high scores, they need to train a lot, but it is hard to do so. Therefore, we can say that South Korea is the emperor of the short track universe. These are the current world record holders today for South Korea.
Conclusion For conclusion, I hope you have watched the Olympics with joy and encouraged the short track national team of South Korea. |
